Michael Slamanig heads PANTARHEI'S Risk and Reputation service unit. With more than 30 years in the strategic communications sector under his belt, he has assisted numerous clients from industry, banking and insurance, as well as interest groups, SMEs and professionals in overcoming crises. In addition, Michael takes steps to help companies prepare for impending crises by developing and implementing proactive crisis communication management frameworks.
Whenever companies see problems on the horizon or already find themselves in choppy waters, Michael Slamanig and his team are on hand to provide the necessary support. His experience and commitment to his clients are crucial for providing high-level reputation-related advice. In Michael’s view, "reputation is a valuable currency" – it is essential to safeguard this particular corporate asset, and lay foundations which enhance its value.
A legal specialist, Michael Slamanig founded Publico’s Klagenfurt office – the company’s first location outside Vienna – in 1988 before going on to expand the business. In 1995 he took on responsibility for Publico’s activities in Styria. After 17 years in the communications sector, including numerous projects outside Carinthia and Styria, and as a lecturer at the University of Klagenfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Campus02 in Graz, the next step in his career took him to the Austrian capital. Building on his expertise at Publico, he focused on industrial customers in the energy sector as well as reputation management.
Michael Slamanig was a Managing Partner at PANTARHEI in Vienna and Graz until 2016. Since then, his work has centred on supporting high-risk clients, in addition to establishing and refining reputation management operations at PANTARHEI.
